OUR PHILOSOPHY
COMPANY PHILOSOPHY
We are here to demonstrate our belief in the proposition that a well-educated consumer makes the best kind of customer. We want you to harbor no illusions, to be skeptical and questioning in your approach, but mostly, to have a good objective understanding of the technology you hope to purchase. And, while admittedly it can seem intimidating and complex, a half hour's time spent reviewing the fundamentals will usually provide sufficient information to be able to make a reasonably good decision about what you need in order to achieve your goals. By studying the technology rather than the hype, you may be able to save hundreds of dollars that might be wasted on products that seem to provide important benefits, but which are little more than the wispy constructions of a manufacturer's marketing department. Among our competitors are some sites that offer explanations and insight along with factual descriptions of the available products. This is in sharp contrast to the many sites that use wildly overheated descriptions of the many extra perceived benefits of owning their products. In the main, unfortunately, there is manipulation, pandering, gross distortion, hyperbole, exaggeration, psycho-social manipulation, and often, downright lies employed to get people to buy products. There is no need for any of this. Electronic equipment as it is presently realized is completely adequate to convey the full sensory and emotional experience that makes it so attractive to human beings in the first place. Nor is it ever necessary to pawn your first born to obtain these goods. The present cutthroat retailing of these products keeps the prices within a narrowly competitive range. But, it is that same atmosphere that also creates many of the abuses to consumer's intelligence that seem so prevalent. For example, in the case of car stereo equipment, there is much greater value in appreciating the meaning of "15 watts peak at 4 ohms," than in well turned phrases like, "huge throbbing bass that will blow your doors off!" If the first quote applies to the same amplifier as the second, you will know enough to avoid making a bad decision. The web offers a large number of objective resources that can be searched to acquire a comprehensive understanding of these matters, and we attempt to provide appropriate links to the best of these. We also like to think that our own Technical Education pages are among the best of these (it is so good, in fact, that it is constantly being stolen and illegally posted on others' websites). Please, before you make a purchase, check out the tech-help links in various categories on our pages. And, if your question has to do with stereo or audio subjects of any kind, please visit our Tech Section .
It is our sincere wish and intention to provide the kind of information and guidance that will help you reach your goals at the lowest possible cost and the highest possible satisfaction.
Thanks for visiting, and we look forward to serving you.
