About Speakers
Welcome
to our educational section on speakers/drivers. You will note throughout
this section that
speakers
are often referred
to as "
drivers
," because this
is actually the correct term. The term "speaker" is traditionally
meant to describe what you may think of as a cabinet or system with
speakers/drivers built in, whereas the term "driver" refers
to an individual speaker. In some cases, speaker/drivers may also be
referred to as "emitters" or "transducers," both
technically correct terms. If you have any trouble understanding any
term used in this or any other section, please refer to our
Glossary
, and if you can't find the term you are looking for there, please e-mail
us by

here.
Below
we have added links to the pages in the Speaker section, but if you
ever need to get from one place to another, all these links, plus links
for the entire site, are available on the right and left navigation
bars.
